ASC Outreach Offer

Rectory C of E Primary School

Outreach by Rectory

Rectory CE Primary School’s ASC Specialist Provision provides three curriculum pathways and individual and personalised plans for all children. Our children achieve due to being in a well thought out environment that celebrates their individual needs and strengths. Our offer is centered around communication and promoting independence. We are proud of the bespoke package we offer to our children and believe that the skills and expertise our staff have is best shared with the wider educational community to benefit as many young people with SEND in St. Helens as possible.
Outreach work provides opportunities for educational professionals to work collaboratively to remove barriers to positive life outcomes by building capacity within the school system, provide sustainability in respect to skills, knowledge and understanding and ensure confidence across settings, thus creating integrated and inclusive provision for young people with SEND.
Research shows that where outreach works best, there is a clear understanding of a capacity building model, with outreach and the engaged school staff working closely together, with a clear focus on building staff ‘expertise’.
Our outreach work is not intended to be a remedial intervention, stepping stone in the EHCP process or a pathway for admission to a specialist provision; the purpose is to en-sure that schools have the knowledge and understanding to meet the diverse needs of their learners.
